"The Polish Hunger Site" provides supplementary meals for children in the poorest regions of Poland. This "Pajacyk" ("Wooden Puppet") Program is run by the Polish Humanitarian Organization. After clicking on the Puppet's empty belly you will see the sponsors' banners. Each of them pays approximately 1.5 cents for your visit. There are at least 330,000 children in different parts of Poland who desperately need nutritional support. Nutrition for children in schools is the best way to support a child, her family and her school. The Pajacyk Campaign provides children from the poorest families with at least one hot meal a day, at the schools they attend. By improving the nutrition of the children, more children will stay in school, gain an education and continue to grow and develop, breaking the cycle of poverty.

Note from the webmaster: I don't benefit in any material way from your visits. I pay to keep this website online. There's no advertising on this website that might help defray these costs. I don't ask for donations either. I script each page by hand, using no specialized software or programs. The point is -- I do this because I think it's worthwhile.
If you think this page is worthwhile, please use it and share it with others who care. Thanks!
.
How are these donations "free"? Who pays for them?
In general: When you visit one of the websites listed on this page and click on their donation button, you are then taken to their "thank you" page. That page displays small advertising banners from that website's corporate sponsors. Each of those sponsors agree to pay that website a certain amount of money each time their ad is displayed. Their advertising has counters to keep track of how many times they're displayed.
The corporate sponsors benefit by having their name associated with a good cause, so they pay for your donation. Some of the websites listed on this page also have a popup or a pop-under ad for one of their sponsors. Typically, the display of a popup doubles your donation.
Exactly how it works varies and depends on each website, but that's the general explanation of why these donations are free to you. By clicking on the donation buttons you make the corporate sponsors pay the websites some money. The websites then use that money for whatever good cause they represent. It's a good way for you to do something worthwhile without spending any money.
I like it because it's a Robin Hood variation. Make the rich pay to aid the poor and the needy, and pay to help remedy other damages done on our planet by short-sighted & overly-selfish people, corporations and governments. It's a nudge towards promoting a more equitable distribution of wealth.
Why don't I have more sites listed on this page?
Because I check them out first. Example: One cancer site commonly found on other free donation lists is not listed here. Why? Because the organizations that it says receive its donations deny ever having received anything from that website! At that "charity" site you just click on a "donation button" and view the advertisements of its "partner companies". Sure, clicking it might make you feel good, but no donations are being passed along! I will not knowingly list such fraudulent sites!
I'll include more sites here after I check them out.
There's no need to give any of the above sites your name, email address or any information about yourself at all. A couple of them have short questionaires that they ask you to answer but that's optional. Not answering those questionaires does not affect your free donation. Personally, for reasons of online privacy I prefer not to give them any personal information at all.
For the benefit of the majority of visitors, I've used a few extra lines of explanatory text under the buttons belonging to websites that are written only in Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, etc. In my opinion, sites shouldn't be excluded because of language or geographical location.
I've only discovered one "flaw" with the above daily humanitarian sites and charity sites. Most of them limit you to one donation per day by using cookies. If you delete your computer's cookies after making your daily donation(s), you wouldn't be recognized by the sites if you returned later the same day. You would be seen as a new visitor and allowed to donate again by clicking.
In other words, you could make as many donations per day as you wanted to, and they would all count. All you'd have to do is delete your cookies between visits.
I'm not asking you to take advantage of this method of making several donations per site daily, because some might consider that as cheating. I'll just say that I always like to keep my computers nice and clean!
Actually, I use a program called Super Ad Blocker to automatically delete all cookies every time I close the browser (except for the ones I want to keep). It's set to clean up a lot of things frequently and automatically. They let you try the full version free for 15 days, in case you're interested. It's easy to uninstall if/when you want to. You can read all about it by clicking here. And yes, it also blocks virtually all types of advertising online.
